Iniva will present a talk at Black Cultural Archives entitled Keith Piper, the Black Arts Movement and Iniva. In this presentation, Iniva Librarian Nick Brown and Programme Coordinator Laura Castagnini will point to Iniva’s historical origins within the context of the Black Arts Movement and associated debates around race, art and cultural policy. Nick and Laura will also speak about Iniva’s forthcoming solo exhibition of artist Keith Piper at the Bluecoat in Liverpool (opening in October) who was, and is, a pioneering figure of this movement.
